At Farmington Hills Event, Hindu Foundation Urges Advocacy (Michigan, District Of Columbia, United States)

More than 100 Hindus attended an educational event today in Farmington Hills hosted by the Hindu American Foundation, an advocacy group cofounded by a Southfield native.The gathering was the foundation’s first membership drive event in Michigan and stressed the importance of political involvement.

“We can make an impact,” Mihir Meghani, cofounder and president of the foundation, told the crowd at Bombay Grille restaurant. “Hindus are not going to remain silent.”

Founded in 2003, the foundation is the first and only Hindu organization based in the Washington, D.C. area, organizers said.
