After a fire in 1996 demolished Northeastern University’s chapel in Bacon Hall, the Spiritual Life Center had the opportunity to design a sacred space from a clean slate that could incorporate the diversity of religious life on campus. By estimate, the campus is half Roman Catholic, a quarter Jewish, a quarter Protestant, with small percentages of Muslims, Hindus and Buddhists.
